The Passing of the Storms

Hush now, the birds

Who sing sweet in the leafless branches.

Fall silent now, the traffic

And the folk who go about their day without care.

Calmer now, be the breeze

Who’s efforts shunt dark clouds across the open sky.

The storm has been and gone.

Pick up the thoughts that lay like carnage from the hurricane.

Begin to rebuild the foundations Destroyed by the earthquake.

Embrace the new morn

In the moment of clarity

When sunlight falls upon closed eyes,

Soon to be open.

The storm has been and gone
