Two blue lines

This moment of uncertainty

Hangs over her like a guillotine.

She knows the outcome

Would change her life forever.

This moment should be shared

By the one who holds her heart,

Yet he is nowhere to be found

As his interest in her has dwindled.

She sits and waits,

An eternity it would seem,

To find out if nature has bestowed on her

A blessing, or a punishment…

Baited breath ,

Heart racing,

Thirty seconds and counting,

She finally asks herself the questions

Is it what she wants?

Can she do it alone?

Is she good enough?

Where is he when she needs him?

And down falls the guillotine!

Two blue lines…
