Waiting for nothing

I lay in my bed

Alone and so cold.

I long for you next to me

To have and to hold.

I snuggle down deeply

But still you’re not here.

To share these emotions.

To alleviate this fear.

You say our time will come,

So I lay here and I wait.

Each day draging by,

Does it bring closer the date?

For now, I must sit here.

I must bide my time

And wait for what’s promised –

This man, so divine.

So generous and loving,

So warm, soft and kind

Whom I shall cherish with my love

Body, soul and mind.
